The government has announced that there will be a special bank holiday for the Queens Diamond Jubilee

The 2012 late May bank holiday will be moved to Monday 4 June 2012 and an additional Jubilee bank holiday will be on Tuesday 5 June 2012. As this is an additional bank holiday, it will be for local employers to decide on payment and leave arrangements for their staff required to work on 5 June 2012. There will be no national agreement on this but we expect employers may wish to consider implementing the arrangements they made for the Royal Wedding holiday in 2011.
